The Marsh Cap is perfect for cool, damp days in spring and fall, or dragging the garbage can down to the end of the driveway in the winter. However, I believed the reviews complaining that the hat runs small, and bought the XL for my 7-3/8 noggin. It's too big. If you're a 7-3/8, buy the L, not the XL. I'll send the XL to my bro in Fairbanks, Alaska. His melon is bigger than mine, and he can wear it all summer long.
The marsh cap is a low crown cap. So, if you're used to a higher crown (like a baseball cap) it's going to feel like it's not on all the way. That being said, like pretty much everything Stormy Kromer sells this is very high quality and will last for years. The ear flaps do cover my ears completely. However, if you have lower sitting ears, your lobes may be exposed. The only real issue I have is the sizing. I hate the S,M,L,XL sizing. This cap was ordered in a size L and fits perfectly. I ordered the waxed rancher in the same size and it's a real size (1/8 inch) too big. In my opinion, if any company is going to charge more than $20 for a hat, they should either make it to the old way of sizing or make it adjustable. My hat size is 7½ and with this current sizing scale a L is 7½ on the top end. Please go back to the old way or hat sizing. Even if you have to charge a little more, it's worth it.

Was looking for a Filson but found this SK Marsh at the sporting goods store. Great fit and very warm. the construction is very good and should last for years. I bought in the store so sizing was not an issue. I bought a large which fits perfectly. In most caps I wear a medium. I highly recommend this cap.
Great cap I love that it’s more like a ball cap ear flaps cover nicely very warm beats wearing a knit cap I have 4 original Stormy caps which aren’t as warm!

Needs time to expand. Wish it was available in the equivalent of a size 8 in your original hat. Ever so slightly snug.
